The birth of the Internet brought about many changes.

People could communicate even though they are thousands of miles apart.

But was it really soooooo good?

In school, there has been cases of students forming anti-teachers organisations online. It would be against one teacher and one teacher only. So imagine how many there are?

In prefects, we, the form 5s, have been very strict with the juniors. We decided that previously for about two years, the seniors have been too lenient. They were so soft that the juniors were practically stepping over their heads.

So we decided to make a change. We wanted to strike fear in their minds. We wanted them to be good prefects.

Sadly, it hasn't been very effective. Sure, it brought good results but not as good as we'd hoped. I'd hoped, actually.

Just today, I found the blog of one of the juniors. Apparently, this person has been bad mouthing us in his/her blog. No wonder nobody wants to be a prefect, there's just so much bad publicity!

I have no idea what their problem is. When we were in Form 1, we daren't do any such thing. We were TERRIFIED of our seniors. Yet this bunch of juniors seem to be very daring indeed. Some are even planning to challenge us, saying that the 'game has just begun'.

What is wrong with you people?

I admit, we've been harsh with you guys, but we've been through worse, so why are you complaining? Although the others don't like it, I don't mind you guys talking bad about us among the prefects. I myself did that, once.

But I would never, ever, betray the board by critising the seniors in public. Cyberspace, no less. Aren't you guys a prefect? Shouldn't you be loyal to the board? It's okay if you don't like the people in it, but have you forgotten your vow to be a good and dedicated prefect? Or were you merely saying it out to avoid being chided?

I have no idea what to do with you guys. Seriously.

I can only hope that you'll understand why we did what we did when you take over one day. Or I might just pray that your juniors hate you just as much.
